Yea, so far I’ve raised 100 bucks and since I’m getting it matched from my company, that makes 200 bucks. WHOO HOO I still have a bit to go before I reach my goal, but I think I’m off to a good start. All the funds are being raised for Habitat for Humanity, because they will need a lot of money to help in the rebuilding effort. I know that my goal of raising five hundred dollars may not put a dent in what is needed, but if we all pitch in, every little bit starts adding up. I would like to thank all of the authors who have donated books to help the cause. Some people say that there are no more hero’s but I think we can all be heroes in times like these. My heroes are those giving their time and people who are opening their homes to all the displaced families, people who are giving a few bucks even though they could use it themselves, the counselors, the organizers, and the people on boats looking for survivors. God bless them all.
In other news, I joined a gym. I have seen the face of evil and her name is Lisa, an aerobics instructor at the gym I joined. Yea, I need to get in shape to stop the excess jigglage. I took a kickboxing cardio class and every woman there was like 90 pounds. I felt like a big lug. By the end of the class, I nearly coughed up a lung. Now I’m doing water aerobics. As I was doing it I kept laughing as I thought how easy it was but when I stepped out of the pool, my legs felt like stones. My legs are still sore like a son of a bitch, but the burning question is, will I go back. Yes, I know, I’m a glutton for punishment, but I would rather feel the discomfort now than a heart attack or diabetes down the road. Know what I mean. Of course, I had a bag of M&Ms today, but that’s another story. *sigh*

Okay, I got my fourth angry email today about Niccolo’s Witch since the cover has been posted on my website. I promise, it’s on it’s way. It will be out on the 27th and while I’m so glad that people are anxiously waiting on the sequel to GianMarco’s Muse. Please…no death threats. LOL Literally, this is what one reader wrote to me word for word:

Dear Ms. Vaughn:
I really enjoyed GianMarco’s Muse however it came out in March and it is now September. You’ve had the cover to Niccolo’s Witch posted on your website for over two months now. It’s not very nice of you to tease your fans like that. I could just kill you. Please put me out of my misery and tell me when this f**kin’ story will be out.
You Fan,
XXXX
Oh, but it doesn’t end there. Here is a delightful letter I got a couple weeks ago.

Eve,
Let me start out by saying that I am a huge fan of your work. I especially loved Blood Brothers. You have been saying for months that Niccolo’s Witch is coming out, yet you have other releases coming out. You really ought to work on the stories that your fans want. Your other stories are okay, but I want you to hurry up with the Blood Brothers series. Do you have an actual release date yet?
Humbly yours,
XXXX
LOL, I love the way she signed the ending humbly. I love my readers I really do because I think they all rock. I enjoy the people on my yahoo group too because they’re funny and wild and they motivate me to keep writing. Thanks to everyone for all your tremendous support. I promise all my readers that I will keep pushing out the stories as long as you want them and always feel free to contact me. I’d love to hear from you all.
Love,
Eve
P.S.
The cover for Romeo Unleashed will be posted on my website in the next few weeks, I promise there won’t be as big a gap this time around.

I will be announcing my fundraising efforts on my group within the next day or so, because my company will match my donations dollar for dollar, I will be collecting funds to go to charity. As a special thanks those who donate at least five buck will get a free download, I have thirty authors who have agreed to donate their books, even a couple of print authors who will give me signed copies of their books. I’m pretty excited about this. If you’re interested in the details, check out my website or visit my yahoo group for details. Every little bit helps.

I’ve read a lot of blogs and articles about what is going on in the Big Easy and Mississippi and there’s a lot of finger pointing going on. There will be plenty of time to play the blame game later because there’s a lot of blame to go around from the lowest municipal officials to the highest office in the country. I’m sure in the months to come some people will step down, one person will be made the sacrificial lamb so others can come out smelling like roses. Well I only have one thing to say. STOP IT.
What we need to do more than anything right now is pull together as Americans and do what ever we can to help the victims of this awful tradgedy by donating, money, services, goods, or just your time. Every little bit counts. The US is always helping other countries, lets pulls together and help ourselves for once.
