American Idol

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

Yep, it’s that time a year again. American Idol is back with a vengence and Simon is nastier than ever. I love it! Some people are saying he’s extra mean this year, but to be honest, there wouldn’t be a show without him. Face it, one of the reasons we watch is to see what he’ll say next. I don’t care what anyone says, I love that man.

As for Paula Abdul, what the hell is wrong with her? Is she on drugs because half the things she says doesn’t make sense. I just keep waiting for Simon to belt her. I’ve heard it said that she takes pain killers for a bad back, but girlfriend, it’s starting to show. What happened to pop princess? Straight Up!

Randy? Annoying.

Ryan Seacreast, he’s an enigma. Does this guy have girlfriend, because he’s been spending an awful lot of time commenting on what other men wear. Now, I’m not insinuating a thing, (well maybe I am), but that’s just not something that most guys *coughs straight guys* do.

Okay, my thoughts on some of the contestants. I like Paris Bennett. She’s adorable. I like the girl Katherine McPhee, she’s the cute brunette with her mom as her voice coach. That girl can sang! Those are my two favorite girls. The others don’t really stand out on the radar to me except for being very pretty girls, except that one chic Brenna. That girl has a terrible attitude and she trys to come off as funny, but you just know she’s a beotch. Did you notice when she wasn’t eliminated that no one clapped for her? I get the feeling that she’s not liked, and if she acts that way in front of the camera, imagine what a nightmare she must be when its not on.

For the guys, I looooooove Looooove Loooove Ace Young. He is so hot. I asked my husband if I could leave him for Ace given the opportunity since I told him he could have a free pass with Halle Berry. He said no. :-( His jealousy can be so cute sometimes. :-) I like Taylor Hicks because he’s unique and I think he’s just what the competition needs. Its like he’s channeled Ray Charles, Joe Coker and Michael McDonald. I hope he does well because he’s not cookie cutter. I like Chris the bald headed rocker. He’s a sweetie and he’s got a great voice. I also like that little kid who looks like he’s 12. The name escapes me, but he’s such a cutie pie. I want to pinch his widdle cheeks. So those are my top three guys. Yes, I know that Elliot guy sounds really good to, but I can’t get past the fact that he reminds me of the Leprachaun in that scary movie. *sigh* I’d have so much fun if I were a judge on that show.

Eve and Mini Brad Pitt

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

So I joined a gym a few months back for better health. I’m getting to a certain age where I need to take better care of myself considering all the various health problems in my family. Well, recently I decided to go all gung ho and get a personal trainer as well. When I met him, he was standing on a platform and I thought to myself, wow, he looks like a young Brad Pitt. Seriously. Anyway, we talked and he asked me what my goals were, yadda yadda, so anyway, after our chat, he asks me if I’m ready to work out and I’m like sure. Well, he steps down from behind the counter, and yikes, he’s like 5′5. Now I’m a tall woman, so I towered over this shrimp thinking, it’s Brad’s mini me! :-) He did give me a good work out though. I’m sore as hell now. The little shit.

Happy Anniversary to me

Saturday, February 11th, 2006

When I checked my calendar a few minutes ago, I was floored to see that it was the anniversary of my very first release, Raven’s Calling. As I reflect over the past year, I think about all that I’ve learned about the industry, how I’ve met some wonderful people, made some new friends and realized my dreams. To think I was just a kid with a dream, and now I’m actually a published author.

I have found this year, if not anything else, humbling. Whenever I get a letter from a reader who tells me how much they enjoyed my works its always like the first one. I’m excited like a little kid and I appreciate every single one of them. Writing erotic romance has been an eye opener as well. People from all walks of life read it, and its so amazing. I started a little yahoo group for people who enjoy my books and never would I have imagined to have so many in such a realitively short period of time. I feel truly blessed to have my dream realized and the group of people who enjoy it is just the icing on the cake.

To all unpublished authors with a dream: Don’t give up and never stop until you reach your goal. You may hear no, but don’t let it stop you and never stop learning because when you stop learning your writing suffers. I think I’m a much better writer than I was a year ago and in ten years, I’ll probably be much better than I am now. Also never stop seeking new opportunities. One of my dreams is to be on a bestseller list. I dreamed it, I claimed it, and I’m not going to sit around wishing for it to happen. I plan on doing my abosolute best to make it happen. Alway remain hungry.

Finally a big thanks to those who took a chance on a nobody, Margaret, Caroline, Treva, Olivia, Linda, Tina. And most importantly a huge thanks to my readers. You all mean so much to me. :-)

*I know this post was sappier than usual, but sometimes a gal gets a little emotional, I’ll be my usual piss and vinegar self tomorrow. LOL*

I really need to update my blog more

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

Yes, I’ve been slack, but I plan on updating my blog more. It’s official. I’m lazy. LOL Well, sort of. I’ve been writing up a storm lately but I should be updating my stuff more often. I’m learning how to update my own website and it’s fun. Yeah me. I haven’t had any major screw ups yet so let’s keep our fingers crossed. I’m gearing up for my trip to Cali at the end of March so I’m really excited about that. I’ve never been to the west coast and never been on a plane for such a long period of time. The longer plane ride I’ve had was maybe two hours. Anyone in the LA area know of the hot spots to eat and hang out?
