I hate Best Buy

Worst customer service ever. Not to mention the cashier couldn’t count over a hundred. *shudders* So my computer dies on me and I need a new one. Not only was the sales rep not very knowledgeable, he was really rude. So we went to another location and saw the same computer for the same price. The guy at that store was so helpful I wanted to buy the computer right then and there, but they were out of stock :-( so as much as it galled me. I had to go back to Worst Buy. So as I go to the cashier to pay and I pay in cash, and I swear it literally takes this guy five minutes to count it out, and it’s not like I paid him in ones. It was fifties and twenties, mostly fifties. How hard is that? And to top it off they wouldn’t help me take it to my car even though my friend pulled it up to the front. I’ve always had a problem at Best Buy. They suck so bad.

Along the same lines, I just have to say, when you are paying with your tip money (from your waitressing job), please do not go through the Speedy line. For a $63 total, I watched that cashier count out the ones 3 times. He would *count out 10, stack them up, straighten up the pile, and carefully place the stack on the counter, repeat from * until he made one of the stacks untidy, and start over from the beginning!

That’s really bad. I am sure it has to do with people using credit cards so much that these kids in their late teens working the registers today have forgotten how to count, not being used to people making purchases with cash. How sad is that?

I wanted to buy a $50 video game from them one time (Really wanted this game). I took the man like 15 minutes to say hi. He know i was standing there waiting while he acted like he was doing somthing. I knew he wasn’t because my friend use to work at that Best Buy while she was college and hated working for them. Anyway to make a long story short I decided that since he didnt treat me right I was going to waste his time. Ended up not buying anything for them ever again. I will never tell even my worst enemies to go there.

Same Rotten Service here in Canada as well! Husband bought laptop for me as a gift & within a month it was overheating so bad I couldn’t have it on my lap! We are talking SCORCHING and yes I had it on a stand that allowed air to circulate underneath. Then the battery died. They wanted to KEEP my laptop and have it around their workshop so they ‘could order the right battery’..Huh? Excuse me, that’s my WORKING laptop..no way jose.
I told them if it was that important to them to have my laptop, then I came with it. They wanted to send it to down to california somewhere to the factory..fine I said..I go with it, first class airfare, limo at the airport to the hotel, I go to the factory, it never leaves my sight for an instant and after you replace the battery and it works!, I get the limo back to the airport and first class flight home. Funny how they didn’t go for that.. After six months of being on power they finally FINALLY brought a battery in for me.
I agree. Absolutely worst customer service ever!

I’ve only ever been in Best Buy once. I went in for some information. I stood around looking helpless for about 10 minutes and when someone finally approached me, I asked my question. I got a one-sentence answer and have never entered another Best Buy store. I keep telling myself that I will do so if someone can get me to one of the malls that has one of their stores, since I always have to take the bus when I go by myself. However, I still haven’t made it to one and after reading this, I’m certainly not keen on trying again.

I concur. I went in to buy games for my sons. We are talking Nintendo DS games at around $50 each and i was getting 6 so it was a good bit of money. I stood right next to the sales person repeatedly saying excuse me only to be ignored for about 10 minutes while he pretended to straighten the shelves. When I finally walked away to get help from someone else he told that person, in my presence mind you, that i never asked for help. I lodged a complaint with the store manager and the corporate office and refuse to shop there again.
