I think one of the best things about writing for my the publishers that I do, is the freedom they give me to create the characters that I want to write. I love writing about women you wouldn’t have traditionally seen on the bookshelves a few years back, i.e. women of color, big beautiful women, women with real life issue, etc. But you know, sometimes I do like writing the traditional heroine as well. I don’t even want to pigeon hole myself as a specific type of author.
I think an author has to write what the story calls for, … Read more
I’m so thoroughly addicted to this show, but it’s starting to piss me off. It’s always either a rerun or pre empted. WTF!! Last week was the first new episode in forever and now this week is a re run? Keep it up ABC and you’ll be losing a fan.… Read more

If its raining, put a damn coat and something over your baby’s head. It’s so not cool that you have a rain jacket on, but your baby is getting drenched. Yes, I saw that the other day and I wanted to give her a piece of my mind, but someone beat me to the punch. The woman actually got beligerent. And this is the same mother who probably wonders why her kid is sick all the time. … Read more
Yep, it’s that time a year again. American Idol is back with a vengence and Simon is nastier than ever. I love it! Some people are saying he’s extra mean this year, but to be honest, there wouldn’t be a show without him. Face it, one of the reasons we watch is to see what he’ll say next. I don’t care what anyone says, I love that man.
As for Paula Abdul, what the hell is wrong with her? Is she on drugs because half the things she says doesn’t make sense. I just keep waiting for Simon to belt … Read more
So I joined a gym a few months back for better health. I’m getting to a certain age where I need to take better care of myself considering all the various health problems in my family. Well, recently I decided to go all gung ho and get a personal trainer as well. When I met him, he was standing on a platform and I thought to myself, wow, he looks like a young Brad Pitt. Seriously. Anyway, we talked and he asked me what my goals were, yadda yadda, so anyway, after our chat, he asks me if I’m ready … Read more
When I checked my calendar a few minutes ago, I was floored to see that it was the anniversary of my very first release, Raven’s Calling. As I reflect over the past year, I think about all that I’ve learned about the industry, how I’ve met some wonderful people, made some new friends and realized my dreams. To think I was just a kid with a dream, and now I’m actually a published author.
I have found this year, if not anything else, humbling. Whenever I get a letter from a reader who tells me how much they enjoyed my … Read more

Yes, I’ve been slack, but I plan on updating my blog more. It’s official. I’m lazy. LOL Well, sort of. I’ve been writing up a storm lately but I should be updating my stuff more often. I’m learning how to update my own website and it’s fun. Yeah me. I haven’t had any major screw ups yet so let’s keep our fingers crossed. I’m gearing up for my trip to Cali at the end of March so I’m really excited about that. I’ve never been to the west coast and never been on a plane for such a long period … Read more
I found a television show to watch religiously. The Boondock, based on the comic strip is hilarious. Its about a grandfather who moves his two grandson from the hood to a prodominently white neighborhood. One grandson is a black panther in training, very militant and all black power, while the other grandson is a gansta wanna be. And the grandpa has a black belt in whuppin ass. Then there’s this really disturbed black man who hates black people, and the interracial couple next door, a black man and white women who’s super PC. This show is sooooo funny. One of … Read more
